The postcard claims this was the third largest concrete bridge in the world, but I have no idea if that’s true. Seeing the completed bridge before the valley was flooded gives a good feel for how deep the water is in this area, especially when viewed with a picture of the bridge with water at normal height. It looks like the photo was taken from just beyond the current peninsula, possibly near the Riley home.

In the final picture, the temporary reservoir, New Rye Lake, can be seen behind and under the bridge.
